LimbPower Announces the Launch of Project Limitless 2.0 to Support Children with Limb Differences
LimbPower is thrilled to announce the launch of Project Limitless 2.0, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing every child in the UK who needs one with a free cycling Koalaa prosthetic. This ambitious project is made possible through the collaboration of remarkable charities, generous donors, and esteemed partners, including Koalaa and British Cycling.
What is Project Limitless?
Project Limitless aims to give every child who needs one access to a prosthetic arm. With the support of some fantastic charities and amazing donors, we are working tirelessly to achieve this bold ambition.
Introducing Project Limitless 2.0
Building on the success of its predecessor, Project Limitless 2.0 focuses on providing free cycling Koalaa prosthetics to every child in the UK who needs one, once our funding target has been reached. This initiative will enable children with limb differences to experience the joy and freedom of cycling, regardless of their physical limitations.
Support from British Cycling
British Cycling has committed to supporting every child who receives a cycling attachment. They will integrate these children into local cycling clubs, fostering a sense of community and helping them continue their journey into the world of cycling. This support ensures that children not only receive the equipment they need but also have access to ongoing mentorship and opportunities to develop their skills in this incredible sport.
A Proven Track Record
In the UK, Project Limitless has already made a significant impact by providing over 600 children with prosthetic arms. This success has been achieved through partnerships with esteemed charities, including the Douglas Bader Foundation, FLOAT, LimbPower, Reach, and LimbBo. However, there are still many more children who need assistance, and Project Limitless 2.0 is poised to meet this demand.
A Legacy of Support
The Douglas Bader Foundation has played a pivotal role in this area, leaving behind a phenomenal legacy. LimbPower is honoured to take the baton and continue this vital work, supporting children with limb differences and helping them achieve their full potential.
Quotes from Key Stakeholders
"We are thrilled to launch Project Limitless 2.0, which will provide crucial support to children with limb differences," said Kiera Roche, CEO at LimbPower. "Our goal is to empower them to lead active and fulfilling lives by making cycling more accessible."
"Koalaa is super proud to partner with Limb Power to deliver Project Limitless 2.0! At Koalaa we believe every child should have the opportunity to not only thrive and excel in a sport, but simply to be able to try it out and experiment with it on a level playing field with their peers. Project Limitless 2.0 is making it possible for even more children with upper limb differences to get cycling with confidence!” said Koalaa founder, Nate Macabuag.
Moving Forward
Project Limitless 2.0 represents a significant step forward in supporting children with limb differences. By providing them with the necessary equipment and support, this initiative will enable them to engage in physical activities, develop new skills, and experience the joy of cycling. The collaborative efforts of LimbPower, Koalaa, British Cycling, and other charitable partners ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive.
As the project progresses, the focus remains on raising the necessary funds to reach the ambitious target. Donations from corporations, trusts, and individuals will play a crucial role in making this dream a reality. Together, we can create a future where every child with a limb difference has access to the tools and opportunities they need to lead active and fulfilling lives.
